The second is to raise money so we can offer resources to the men and women living on the streets and hopefully help them find affordable housing.” Avid runner and team captain for C&C Runners Marion Childress was one of the first participants to sign up for both last year’s and this year’s Hustle. “I will be running in memory of my brother Wayne who was in a homeless condition a few years ago and left us far too soon because of his circumstances,” Childress said explaining why this event is so personal to him. “There should not be a homeless person anywhere. Thanks to The Least of These for making major improvements in the valley and impacting lives.” [Marion Childress is pictured below participating in the 2018 Hustle for the Homeless.] The Hustle for the Homeless will begin on Marshall Avenue near First Baptist Church and takes participants through the streets of Downtown Roanoke, passing several historical landmarks along the way. Runners and walkers are encouraged to participate. Online registration is just $25 per person if done by Friday, May 17th. Day of and onsite registration is $35. For competitive runners, awards will be presented to the top three finishing males and the top 3 finishing females. Age group awards will also be presented. The mission of TLOT is to meet men and women living on the streets and serve them where they are with spiritual, physical, and emotional support in the name of Jesus Christ. TLOT views all people, no matter their circumstance, as a child of God and worthy to be served. For more information on The Least of These Ministry, click here. ###
