Annual Hustle for the Homeless 5K
Traditionally held in May in Downtown Roanoke
Sign up today for the 2022 event on May 21!
The Hustle for the Homeless 5K is a fundraiser that raises money for The Least of These Ministry which offers support to Roanoke’s homeless community. The event was created as an opportunity for competitive runners to compete for awards as well as for families and friends to come together in support of a worthy cause. A virtual option is available.
All participants desiring to be chip timed are invited to register for our live event. All other participants are invited to register for our virtual event.
“The purpose of the Hustle for the Homeless is two-fold,” says TLOT founder Dawn Sandoval. “The first purpose is to create awareness for the issue of homelessness in the Roanoke Valley. The second is to raise money so we can offer resources to the men and women living on the streets and hopefully help them find affordable housing.
For competitive runners, awards are presented to the top 3 finishing males and the top 3 finishing females. Age group awards will also be presented.
The 2021 Hustle garnered support from more than 350 participants and volunteers.

Check out this video from WFXR in 2021 about why you should participate in the Hustle for the Homeless.

Dining with Dignity
Traditionally held in September in the Century Plaza, Downtown Roanoke
Due to the COVID pandemic, this event hasn't been held since 2019.
Dining with Dignity is a dining event organized with the sole purpose of showing love to Roanoke’s homeless by serving them a 3-course meal with no strings attached.
“What can I possibly say about today...but GOD?!! As we prepared for our Dining with Dignity event, we were drenched by heavy rain! But...then the rain stopped and, alongside the most AHmazing group of volunteers, we served 100 people a 3-course meal! It was the most amazing and moving experience EVER! There are no words to express how grateful we are to every single person that donated food and other items, served our friends, helped set up and clean up in torrential rain and those that prayed for us and our friends! A million times THANK YOU! We are grateful for this community! The chalkboard photo is a beautiful example of those being served and those serving coming together as ONE people group....human beings created by God! I am humbled and blessed!” -Dawn Sandoval
