“Homeless folks have nowhere to shower, they have nowhere to be hygienically safe from a virus that has killed 200,000."

Meeting Needs
What a difference a day makes!
Thanks to the generous support of this village, three of our homeless friends now have a warm bed to sleep in and a roof over their head as we were blessed with the opportunity to house them this month.
One of our friends has a very strenuous job and has to walk to work taking an hour each way. She’s dedicated and thankful to be gainfully employed so she doesn’t complain.
The TLOT Village also came through with generous donations of groceries, pots and pans, silverware, a microwave, shower curtain, Uber gift cards, and more.
These little touches go a long way in helping our newly housed friends get settled in their new homes.

Additional Needs Met

TLOT booked travel arrangements to help two homeless men reunite with families in October. One man traveled by train to Shelby, Montana to be near his brother. The other traveled by bus to be with family in Colorado.
Words cannot convey our extreme gratitude for your financial support, in kind donations, volunteer service, and, most of all, your continued prayers! WE APPRECIATE YOU!

Mercy Grace Repairs
Our faithful ministry truck (whom we affectionately call Mercy Grace) had to take a trip to the hospital for inpatient care recently, which cost us of $1500 in repairs. When Mercy Grace is down and out, TLOT can’t make nightly visits on the streets to meet needs. Please pray for her health and ability to stay well. Those trips to the hospital tend to be costly!

Thankful Thursday

The temperatures are beginning to drop in the evenings and our unsheltered friends are beginning to ask for jackets and blankets to keep them warm. After bellies were filled from Thankful Thursday this month, many guests visited the ministry truck to receive these items to keep them warm in addition to snacks, t-shirts, toiletries, and more! While distributing the items they requested, we peered into the eyes of these sweet friends and were reminded that they are someone’s child, parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, and friend. Their circumstances do not define them. The TLOT Village reminds them of this, and that they are loved...no matter their circumstances. Thank YOU for being an important part of the TLOT Village!

TLOT Day of Thanks
With help from our village, TLOT is planning to feed our unsheltered friends this year in our first ever Day of Thanks. With all of the staple Thanksgiving food fixings, we want to help our guests feel loved as we kick off this year’s holiday season.
We will be serving a meal from 12:00PM - 1:30PM on Thanksgiving Day, November 26 in Elmwood Park. Would you like to help us? There are many ways to help!
Food Donations:
We are seeking the following food donations to help complete this Thanksgiving meal. We are asking that all donations be delivered in a 17.25 Inch x 12.68 Inch x 4.0 Inch disposable Super King Roaster pan to make sure we have enough food for our guests. A "drive-thru" food drop-off beginning at 10:00AM Thanksgiving morning will be available for those that are willing to donate food items. (Drive-thru drop off location details TBD.) Food sign up.
Event Volunteer:
We are seeking volunteers to help with setup, serving and cleanup at the event. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. There are different serving times available. Volunteer sign up.
