“It’s very seldom when we’re out that we close the doors of that ministry truck and we don’t hear our homeless friends yelling, 'We love you,' as we leave,” said executive director Dawn Sandoval.
Meeting Needs on the Streets!
· This has been a busy month for bus tickets. We have purchased bus tickets to help 3 of our homeless friends and a service dog reunite with a support system in another part of the country.
· We recently housed a 66 year old man who found himself homeless after his landlord passed away. With our assistance, he is now in his own home!
· This pandemic has caused financial hardships to many! Some of our friends whom we have assisted with housing are finding it difficult to pay rent due to job loss or reduced hours. We are working to fill in those financial shortfalls as much as we can.
· With help from our amazing TLOT Village, we rebooted Thankful Thursdays and hosted two dinners for our homeless friends in downtown Roanoke this month.

We Need Hustlers!
The Hustle for the Homeless is our only annual fundraising event. This event is usually held in May but this year it was postponed to August.
Due to COVID, we have two options available this year:
1) A virtual 5k for families and non-competitive walkers/runners. #Hustleathome5k anytime between Aug 1 and Aug 22 and post a picture of your time, distance and YOU on social media with the hashtag.
2) A live 5k for our competitive runners through downtown Roanoke on Aug 22. Medals will be awarded to winners in each race category.
This event is crucial to the development of our ministry. If you haven't already, please consider signing up for the virtual event or the timed race. Register before Aug 1 to get a free tshirt!
