Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me. -Matthew 25:40
Hustlers on a Mission!
Despite a nationwide pandemic and a storm that dumped massive amounts of rain, the 2020 Hustle for the Homeless 5K and VIRTUAL Family Fun Run was a success! More than 310 people “hustled for the homeless” either virtually or as a participant in the on-site live 5k race held on August 22! This event assisted our ministry in raising funds which will go directly to the mission of meeting men and women, living on the streets in the Roanoke Valley, and serve them where they are with spiritual, physical, and emotional support in the name of Jesus Christ.
Special thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event a success – the participants (live and virtual), volunteers, sponsors (see below), and anyone else who contributed, in any way, to making the 3rd Annual Hustle for the Homeless 5K & VIRTUAL Family Fun Run a success! Even though the sky opened up on race day and it rained bucket loads, everyone who participated and volunteered pressed on. Even cheer leaders encouraged our runners in the rain! We believe it speaks to the strong will and compassion of those that support our mission and we are forever grateful.

Meeting Needs!
This month, TLOT was able to secure housing for a family of six which includes a veteran, his wife and their four children. Through the generous donations from the TLOT Village, we were able to furnish their entire home and provide a gift card for groceries.

Thankful Thursdays!
With help from volunteer groups, TLOT hosted two Thankful Thursdays in downtown’s Market Square in August. Approximately 35 guests received home-cooked meals in pre-packaged boxes and were provided items from the ministry truck to meet their immediate needs.

Honoring Lives Lost
This has been a tough year of loss for our homeless community and those that serve them. These are some of our friends that have recently lost their lives before having a chance to overcome homelessness. Please pray for the families of these loved ones.
