"Dear Lord, protect our unsheltered friends during this pandemic and provide for them; and more than anything, let them know they are loved and they are not alone." -Dawn Sandoval, Least of These Executive Director

Meal Deliveries
Due to necessary changes in the policies implemented by the local emergency shelter and day shelters, our homeless friends have little to no access to meals. Using all necessary social distancing precautions, we are currently serving lunches on the street every day. Occasionally, we have been able to serve dinner as well! All of this is made possible by our amazing TLOT Village - YOU! This village has provided food and financial donations that allows us to provide these extra meals!
Recently, during one of the evening meals, one homeless friend was late to the dinner and continued to apologize for his tardiness. He explained that he didn’t have anything that told him the time and he was trying to determine the time to meet us by the sun. He asked if we had anything on the truck that might allow him to keep up with the time. In an instant, David Sandoval, one of our volunteers, gave him the watch he was wearing! And the next day, our homeless friend was right on time for lunch.
Every day, our volunteers amaze us with their support. Pictured above is the sweet Braaten family as they prepared 50 ham and cheese sandwiches and goodies in a bagged lunch. Many of you have donated meals, snacks, drinks, water, and financial blessings and we are absolutely thrilled to have you on our team to show love to our homeless friends.

An Unprecedented Easter
This year's Easter meal was unprecedented. No church. No family gatherings. No restaurant dining. But, this year, because of the continued support of this village, we were blessed with the opportunity to provide our unsheltered friends with a home cooked meal! On the menu was ham, mac-and-cheese, green beans, a dinner roll, chocolate chip cookie, and chocolate covered raspberry creme Easter eggs!
We had the opportunity to pray with them and show the love of Jesus (using social distancing precautions). Easter may have looked a little different but Jesus made His presence known!
Special thanks to our faithful volunteers Rebekah and Eric McGeorge who help us serve food almost every day. Rebekah is pictured preparing to deliver meals on Easter Sunday.

During These Times
As you can imagine, non-profits are among those suffering during this COVID-19 pandemic. People are fearful in these uncertain times. Therefore, the financial support has been negatively impacted. However, we will continue to work tirelessly to serve one of the most vulnerable people groups.
If circumstances allow and you feel led, we would be grateful for your support. Checks can be mailed to:
TLOT, 602 Marshall Ave SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
