tlot partners with homeless assistance team
|
We are thrilled to announce that as of July 28th, TLOT will begin hosting Roanoke City's "Homeless Assistance Team" at our "sustaining station" at 422 Luck Ave SW every Monday and Wednesday, in order to better serve our unsheltered friends!
As we join forces, we will be combining efforts and resources to serve our unhoused friends more effectively. This collaboration allows us to extend our impact—providing additional access to assistance with permanent housing. Please pray for this growing partnership and the lives it will impact! |

We want to give a huge shout of “THANKS” to the Virginia DMV for their awesome fundraising efforts here in Roanoke throughout the month of June! By displaying “donation cups” at each window, they raised $1,200.05 for our ministry!
We also want to thank all of the DMV customers and staff that donated! We are beyond thankful for the support of our community! We truly are better together!! |
DINING WITH DIGNITY RETURNS OCTOBER 11
|
Dining with Dignity is an annual event that blesses us with the opportunity to provide a dignified dining experience for our unsheltered friends! We are SO excited to serve a delicious meal in an elegant setting by uniformed servers. Last year, we were blessed to serve approximately 110 homeless friends!

MISSION MOMENTS
|
After six months of homelessness, Chris Bonner became a tenant at Suites by TLOT in late spring. At the time, he was riding his bike 11 miles to work every day. Thanks to a generous donor, detailing courtesy of Ridin Dirty Mobile Detailing and the Lord's provision, Chris was the recipient of a donated truck! Watch the heartwarming moment he was surprised with the truck HERE!
You can also watch his testimony on 7@four down below in the section "TLOT in the News"! Back in May, The Least of These Ministry was honored to receive a $10,000 check from Elevation Church to go towards our various outreach efforts. In addition, this ministry and the hands and feet that serve were showered in prayer. We are so thankful for this generous gift! |

SCENES AROUND THE MINISTRY
|
There are SO many people that show up, whenever we have a need, to make this ministry possible! Derek Gordon was SO willing to come to our aid when our warming bus needed to be wired up to run via electricity! And he continues to show up to move buses, install bathroom fans or whatever else we may need!
AB Jones is an amazing blessing as he orchestrates our “Moving Calvary”! He and his crews have assisted us in moving multiple people into permanent housing! We are very thankful for our tribe!! Since we could not host Hustle for the Homeless 5K this year, the DOPE Hike Series hosted a Walk with Purpose 5K as an effort to raise funds and awareness for our ministry. We are thankful for their support in coming together in unity, compassion, and purpose! |

- Facility Volunteers – This role includes ensuring that our unsheltered guests get checked in and are provided with lunch and facilitating shower and laundry services on a Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday, from 11:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. or until closing duties are complete. We will gladly work with you to determine dates that work for you! If you're interested in volunteering, send us a message on Facebook messenger or you can email us at [email protected]!
- Loving Lunches – Volunteers are invited to purchase/prepare enough food for approximately 75-80 people and deliver to the TLOT headquarters, located at 422 Luck Avenue, by 12:00 noon. Through the provision of these "loving lunches," our friends will have the opportunity to enjoy a meal while waiting their turn to shower and/or launder their clothes.
