On October 11th, we hosted the 5th Annual Dining with Dignity event. We were blessed to serve approximately 115 people and it was truly an amazing day! Thank you to every person that baked, delivered food, donated food/tea/time, served alongside us, prayed for us, set up, took orders, cleaned up and showed up!

We also want to thank our sponsors as well as those that donated food and drinks:

MKB, REALTORS
LongHorn Steakhouse
Carrabba’s Italian Grill Roanoke, Va
Olive Garden
Tizzone Wood-Fired Kitchen & Wine Bar
McAlister's Deli
Chick-fil-A Bonsack
Texas Roadhouse
Wings Etc. Salem

Our unity project this year was a beautiful tapestry that was woven, each strand individually, by our guests and all of our volunteers.

TLOT CHANGES FACILITY HOURS

Picture
In August, we updated our facility hours! We are now open 10:30 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. If you sign up to provide a Loving Lunch, we ask that the meal be dropped off to our facility no later than 11 A.M.

If you are interested in volunteering at our facility, please send us a message via Facebook messenger or email us at [email protected] and we will get you plugged in!

TLOT PURCHASES AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROPERTY

Picture
Picture
We are about to EXPLODE with some very exciting news!

It has been the vision of our ministry to own properties that will allow us to offer AFFORDABLE housing to those experiencing homelessness.

GOD brought that vision to fruition! We are the proud owner of our FIRST (of many, in Jesus' name) rental property! A duplex with TWO units!

Stay tuned for opportunities to serve as we start working on this jewel!

SCENES AROUND THE MINISTRY

Picture
We are beyond thankful to Eagles Nest Regeneration Inc. and Elevation Church - Roanoke for providing us with additional lockers and awnings! These lockers will allow us to bless additional unsheltered friends with a place to store their personal items while they battle homelessness.

Sometimes, it’s just the simple things! May God continue to be glorified in ALL that this ministry does!

This summer, we faced an unexpected challenge. Our community spaces were becoming too hot for the people we serve, and it was determined that our current air conditioning and heating was not working appropriately. Although our landlord was unable to offer a solution and this repair was not in our budget, God provided the funding for this project through our tribe!

We would like to show our extreme gratitude to Cline Electrical and Kennard-Pace for the installation of TWO mini split units! We are SURE to be set for every season moving forward!

MINISTRY NEEDS: HOW YOU CAN HELP!

Picture
Financial Donations:
As we continue to serve our unsheltered friends by way of the facility, directly at the street level, and through Suites by TLOT, financial donations are vital to continue our mission. Donations can be made via our PayPal link or you can mail a check directly to our home office address at 602 Marshall Ave SW, Roanoke, VA, 24016.

Help Needed:
If you have a heart for people and have the availability, we would love to partner with you in service!
  • Facility Volunteers – This role includes ensuring that our unsheltered guests get checked in and are provided with lunch and facilitating shower and laundry services on a Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday, from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. or until closing duties are complete. We will gladly work with you to determine dates that work for you! If you're interested in volunteering, send us a message on Facebook messenger or you can email us at [email protected]!
  • Loving Lunches – Volunteers are invited to purchase/prepare enough food for approximately 100 people and deliver to the TLOT headquarters, located at 422 Luck Avenue, by 11 A.M. Through the provision of these "loving lunches," our friends will have the opportunity to enjoy a meal while waiting their turn to shower and/or launder their clothes. Our 2026 sign up sheet is now available - if you're interested in providing a lunch, click here!
