hustle for the homeless success!
The Least of These Ministry raised approximately $20,000 on May 18, 2024 at the 7th annual Hustle for the Homeless 5K!
Over 300 runners participated in the fundraiser along the streets of downtown as we raised money for the ministry and raised awareness about the growing issue of homelessness in the Roanoke Valley. We are also so thankful to our incredible sponsors who helped make this event possible. Check out a fun recap of the event here! |
tlot receives a free aed machine!
TLOT now has an AED machine at the facility, in the event of an emergency.
The Compress and Shock Foundation hosted a free AED/CPR training at the TLOT facility on Saturday, June 1. If at least 35 people attended the training, TLOT would receive an AED machine, no charge. Folks showed up and showed out, and we were blessed to be gifted with this life-saving device. In addition, several members of our volunteer staff received hands-on CPR training. A big thank you to Jo & Co. Jewelers for sponsoring and supporting this event! |
mission moments
"I have always had my faith in God...that's the only thing that has kept me going. It's just unbelievable that we have a place. It's all because of Him."
Crystal and Jesse came to the facility on a Friday afternoon to say goodbye and thank you to the volunteers who have served them the last few months. Watch Crystal and Jesse's story here. |
"If it wasn't for them, a lot of us wouldn't survive." Tom was a loyal client at the TLOT facility and was always willing to help clean up. He came off the streets in March and says if he could use one word to describe what it means to be out of homelessness: "AWESOME!" Watch Tom's story here. |

Ministry needs: how you can help!
Financial Donations:
As we continue to serve our unsheltered friends at the facility, directly on the streets, and now through Suites by TLOT, financial donations are vital to continue our mission. Donations can be made via our PayPal link or you can mail a check directly to our home office address at 602 Marshall Ave SW, Roanoke, VA, 24016. |
Help Needed:
If you have a heart for people and have some available time, we need volunteers at the facility and for our Loving Lunches!
If you have a heart for people and have some available time, we need volunteers at the facility and for our Loving Lunches!
- Facility Volunteers – This role includes serving lunch to our unsheltered friends, ensuring that our guests get checked in, and facilitating shower and laundry services on a Monday, Wednesday and/or Friday, from 11:45 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. or until clean up is complete. We will work with your schedule to find dates that work for you. If you're interested in volunteering, send us a message on Facebook messenger!
- Loving Lunches – Volunteers are invited to purchase/prepare enough food for approximately 75-80 people and deliver to the TLOT headquarters on Luck Avenue by 12:00 noon. Through these "loving lunches," our friends will be able to enjoy their meal while they wait for their turn to take a shower. If you're interested in signing up for a day to drop off lunch, click here!
